About the Neighborhood

Lynwood Center lies at the intersection of Point White Drive and Pleasant Beach Drive. There truly is something for everyone at this special spot only about 7 minutes from downtown Winslow. The shops and cafes that make up the south end hamlet are the heart of Lynwood. With the historic theater from 1936, the casual and fine dining restaurants, frozen yogurt, delicious wines, darling boutiques, live entertainment, and the Pleasant Beach Pool, it's easy to get comfortable here. From waterfront homes and newer condominiums overlooking Port Orchard Passage and the Olympic Mountains to gracious neighborhoods designed for easy living, Lynwood Center is a special spot here on Bainbridge Island.

You will find the quaint no-bank Lytle Beach just down the road offering views of Rich Passage, the Washington State Ferries traveling to and from Bremerton, Mt. Rainier, and sea lions on the Coast Guard buoy. Occasionally, you can watch an aircraft carrier or submarine heading into or out of the Bremerton Naval Base. Lytle Beach Activities include barbecues, paddle boards, swimming, beach combing, sea life viewing on low tides, sunbathing, kite flying, dog walking (on leash), and of course, the Annual Polar Bear Plunge (January 1st at noon). Jugglers, photographers, and music are often seen at the event, as well as the local newspaper reporter. (Fire pit and  donated barbecues, paddle boards, and life jackets, all donated by beachgoers — so make sure they’re safe before you allow your children to use them or bring your own.)

If you venture a little further, you’ll discover Fort Ward Park, a 137-acre marine park with a boat launch, and 4,300 feet of saltwater shoreline on Rich Passage. Or you could head Northeast to Gazzam Lake Preserve and enjoy 2 miles of gently rolling trails through dense forest.
